Welcome to the new "The Parks in Pictures" Blog.
We are still under construction and our mission is subject to change. While we grow, you can keep track of our new additions by using the link to the right labeled: "List of New and Updated Posts."
Here's what happened. I realized that the original Hockey Cop blog was basically three things. One, hockey rules. Two, Disney pictures. Three, randomness. They really didn't mix. So I split them up.
Hockey Cop will focus on hockey and its rules.
Empire Sports will be two things: First, the randomness that appeared from time to time in Hockey Cop. Second, the Ice Girls.
Parks in Pictures will be an archive for Disney pictures and stories.
The original posts from Hockey Cop are going to be stored on a blog I will not keep up. It's for archive only.
The original posts from the Hockey Cop blog related to Disney will be moved to here over the next while. Some entries will be edited to cut down on needless information that may have been included or expanded upon to keep the information current. Other entries will be split into seperate posts because they were originally combined and the information or pictures should be split up.
The unedited entries will be kept in tact without changes on the archived blog. This will include all comments. Comments made at Hockey Cop will not appear in this blog, though any important information will be reflected within the modified post in the Parks in Pictures entry.
New or previously unpublished posts will also be added to this blog.
Unlike other blogs, this one will have a non-changing home and welcome page (eventually). Navigation to different blog posts will be recommended through the pages on the right. These will direct guests to the different photo essays, stories as a guest or as a cast member, fun stuff (like original quizes) and new items. This will make it easier for readers of the old Hockey Cop blog to find new photos or stories. It will also show the latest entries that have been added to the Parks in Pictures blog.
There is some work to do.
For anyone new to this blog, please note that I do reveal some information in a limited number of posts that is not common knowledge or may not be experienced by all guests or cast members. I do not reveal trade secrets and strive to protect the integrity of the magic and characters; however, the curtain maybe slightly pulled back in some instances. There are no pictures of any backstage areas or any other areas not accessable by a normal guest (with some exceptions, such as private parties). The purpose of these rare posts is to show what life is like as a cast member, share some of the more memorable moments I've had from certain locations, and point out some of the secrets hidden in plain sight (or just beyond).
Also, if you are new, don't get too excited about the quality of the pictures. While I do have some neat shots, I am by no means a great photographer. The real treat in my pictures is how little people are generally in them. I had the great fortune of capturing many moments or scenes when no one else was around. Many of these pictures were taken very early in the morning. That is part of the reason that the sky is kinda gray in a lot of the pictures. The sun is barely up and the sky isn't that bright blue yet. If there were people around, I'd try not to capture them in the picture. Sometimes that meant waiting around for 5-10 minutes waiting on a group to move out of my shot! But if I couldn't wait for everyone to leave or couldn't get there when no one else would be there, I had another method. I'm sure I looked odd taking some of these pictures because I would often hold the camera level, but above my head (possibly while standing on something). That would put everyone below the camera, but wouldn't give that angled up look so much.
Anyway, that's the entire idea right now behind this Parks in Pictures blog. It may change.
In the meantime, here is a combination video of many of the videos I shot at the parks. Do not expect to see a lot of videos in the blogs as I concentrated on taking pictures.
